HELP NOW WITH DEPRESSION
If you suffer from depression (or bi-polar disorder depressive phase) then counselling and psychotherapy offer hope. Many situations can lead to depression, including grief and loss, past or recent sexual, physical and emotional abuse, personality traits, poor or failing relationships, work-related stress and even one's belief systems. Medication can be a powerful tool (discuss this with your doctor). However some people find medication ineffective or having undesired side-effects.
While Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most common approach and might be one of the ways we work together, I am likely to ask about your life and goals as a whole. Together we would build on your strengths and help you construct the unique life you want for yourself, free from depression.
An Important Note.
If you are worried about yourself or a partner, child or friend being at risk of suicide it is vital to do something about this right away. Suicidal thoughts should never be dismissed - ask for help. See the page In Crisis? for some helpful telephone numbers.

MY GUARANTEE
As a counsellor I know that I can help most people who come to see
me, with a wide range of issues. However, the single most important
factor in successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and
client. You cannot know whether you will have that necessary confidence
and trust until we meet. If you end your first session feeling that you
haven’t been helped at all and you do not wish to return then tell
me. I will gladly refund the initial fee in full, without
qualification.
